Trend is in the report, but not in the leader's quadrant, nor do they have significant marketshare/comprehensive and differentiated set of capabilities. Hence, I did not mention Trend.

CA DLP Team - I'll admit that I'm a hesitant to add CA to the list of DLP vendors because the old Orchestria product - as I knew it and was reported by the analysts - was severely lacking in enterprise DLP functionality (i.e., comprehensive coverage of data at rest, in motion, and in use with deep content inspection... yada, yada, yada). That said, I'll temporarily give you the benefit of the doubt and go ahead and add you w/ a footnote and we'll see what kinds of investment you've made on the engineering side to beef up the product. No long term promises though. The list is meant for enterprise DLP vendors only, so it's up to you. :-)

Since you are taking Vericept off we think it would be a good time to add CA on. Since the acquisition of Orchestria, CA has made significant progress and is about to launch another major version!

I would love to get Rich's comment about why most DLP products today are identity-blind and if high rate of false positives and incident tickets is impeding the adoption of DLP?

Keng - The ability to identify the user is important... so too is the ability to identify the data and the destination. But your claim about DLP product being identity-blind is simply not true, at least for the vendors in the leaders quadrant.

I'm not sure what NextLabs capabilities are in this regard, since they were not included in the MQ. Would you care to comment?

Thanks.

Almost all DLP products on the market today are identity-blind. It is impossible to apply policy accurately without identity-awareness, which lead to high rate of false positive and false negative.

Interesting that CA, which started us all down this breach notification path (thankfully), is finally getting around to strengthening the notification requirements to include more than "gee, sorry about that." Not as tough as (the long delayed) MA law (which _requires_ encryption), but a step in the right direction, IMHO.

If anyone's interested, I wrote some more about the details on SB-20 in my post at http://blog.lumension.com/?p=976
